“…moved with compassion…” (Matthew 9:36, 14:14, 18:27, Mark 1:41)

Compassion is defined as, “Sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it.”1 On several occasions, the miracle ministry of Jesus was preceded by Him being “moved with compassion.” His awareness of the distress of others motivated Him into touching lives by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, forgiving sins, etc.

Quite frankly, I believe it’s time for the CHURCH to be moved with compassion! Moved outside of the four walls the church & into the streets to LITERALLY become DIFFERENCE MAKERS!!! Moved outside of our comfort zones until we live out Matthew 25. Moved beyond our prejudice & preconceived notions into a place where we are not afraid or ashamed to feed the homeless, visit prisoners, touch the outcasts, heal the brokenhearted, etc. And the reason we do this? Not for personal gain or to ease our conscience, but because we want to live like Jesus did and to show the world the POWER of the love of God!

DIFFERENCE MAKERS is a part of Kris Dillingham Ministries designed to help churches develop compassion-based ministries in their local communities and to encourage individual involvement in an area of his/her passion. Our goal is quite simple: #1 – To be a resource center for churches and individuals who are wanting to be involved in compassion ministries and #2 – To get as many people involved in being the hands & feet of Jesus as possible. We want to see 10,000 DIFFERENCE MAKERS in the next 5 years!!!

LOOKING AHEAD: We’re so excited about launching Difference Makers. In the days ahead, we want to help you by providing resource materials on how to start various compassion ministries, how to match your passion with your compassion, what ministry is right for your church, financing your dream, etc. We think you will find these resources extremely helpful.

The 2nd part of this is that we want to encourage others to get involved by highlighting REAL LIFE DIFFERENCE MAKERS…people who aren’t just talking about it, but are really DOING IT.
